Welfare Policy Analysis
A significant part of CBER's ongoing research effort is devoted to an
exhaustive analysis of Tennessee's welfare program, Families First.
Recent work explores the effects of new time limits on benefits and the extent
to which those who leave the program eventually return to the rolls.
Anyone new to the study of welfare policy in Tennessee should also consult the
Case Characteristics Study and other summary reports posted below.
Check here for future reports on work requirements, child well-being, and other
post-program experiences for welfare leavers.
